....and so it begins
School started for the older kids on August 17th. They were soooo ready to go back. I wasn't. I dreaded the day that they leave me and ..... okay..... we were all doing the happy dance!!! They love school and were getting bored and fighting constantly. They need this!! (So do I!!!)
Kennedy's first day of 6th grade. Um...when did that happen? She's so grown up and she has grown like 6 inches and 5 shoe sizes in the last year. Seriously. She loves school so much! She loves being organized, having a task and completing it. She loves structure and learning. She's awesome.

So proud of her shoes!!
Lou started 4th grade and is Mr. Social. He is the popular, friendly, concerned kid. He is friends with everyone and loves having his peeps around. He's the ring leader. Hopefully for the good ???? He's in Mr. Moulton's class and seems to be loving it!!

Do you see that look? What is that? She is usually asking me to not forget to take their pictures by their door. I think I might see a bit of embarrassment? Rude. I may or may not have kissed her right after this. I'll show you!!!
So excited to get going!!! Little embarrassed but not much. Kissed his cheek and let him go!

Who knew? Who knew that this kid starting his 2nd year of preschool would actually make me cry? I don't think I have cried when any of my kids have gone to school. Not that I don't miss them. (that doesn't make me look very awesome, does it??) But they have always just been so excited and so ready. I am not ready for my baby to be without me. I still carry him around on my hip. Maybe that should stop. Seriously, I still rock him to sleep. How rude to go and grow up on me.

Colie with Miss Andy and Miss Jane. We love them!! So glad they are here for another year. What would we do without them??? Love.

Summer Wrap-Up
Summer. Love.
For some unknown reason, I can not make these pictures move back into the order I put them in. So....here you go. Seriously the order is driving me bat crap crazy. Please just don't be annoyed.
For the 4th of July we had a little BBQ with a few friends and did some fireworks. We got a little bit of the BBQ in before the wind and rain started in. Good times.
KK's team made it to the playoffs for softball. They played in Springville at my mom's alma mater. It might have been the hottest day at the hottest time, both days. Ugh. But she had fun. They played some pretty incredible teams. They lost both games but she played amazing!!! She has improved so much it is fun to watch her play and have fun....well...we're still working on the 'fun' part. She puts so much pressure on herself that she gets sick to her stomach and upset if one thing goes wrong. Hopefully that will go away the older she gets!!
Our friends invited us to go to the drive-in movie last month. Pretty sure I haven't been to a drive-in since I was like 19. Actually, I didn't think they existed anymore. Well, I was wrong!! Apparently there is one in Mount Pleasant, Utah. Good to know!! So we went to see Cars 2. The kids weren't nearly as impressed as I thought they would be! But all of the adults thought it was really fun and so nostalgic!! Good friends and fun.
The kids have been bugging me to take them to the skate park that is adjacent to the Payson pool. So one afternoon after we got rained out of the pool (oh...wait...that was EVERY AFTERNOON THIS SUMMER!!!!) we did it.
He had the time of his life until all of the 25 year old pot heads decided to take over. Seriously. Get a job and pull up your pants you punk.
On the 24th the kids and I went to the Fiesta Days Parade in Spanish Fork. After that we headed to In 'n Out burger for lunch and then went to pick up Ross and Don from the airport. They had just spent a week moving Devin and Andrea out of their Texas house and driving to Florida and helping them get settled.
Our one camping adventure this year came in the form of the ward camp out. It was actually really fun. It was a stormy afternoon/evening so not many people showed up. We couldn't make up our mind until the last minute if we were going to stay or not. Ross said, the only way he was staying was if we pitched our tent under one of the pavilions, at the Old Pinery. So...we did.!!! Lots of photo ops but my battery died just after this...
Guess what ? We stayed dry....
Owlz game with friends.
Doug and Carey invited us over for a swim/BBQ. It was fun, as usual. Their pool is so much fun and the kids could stay all day!!
The kids got to go to 2 different rodeos this year. It's their new favorite thing!! I kind of love the way they look in their cowboy hats, so it's a win-win.
No pics from the Ute Stampede but this was the Santaquin Orchard Days Rodeo. It's small and dorky but it's lots of fun!!
Love!! About 30 seconds after finishing his hamburger he asked if he could sit on my lap. Zonked. Sometimes I love no-nap days! He seriously didn't move until the very end. It was perfect!!
Lou, hanging with the boys teasing the bulls. He's so cute!
KK and her friend Sacoya. They were so grown up and didn't even sit by me. Rude. It was actually really funny, neither of the big kids sat by me, so here's this lady who doesn't really care about the rodeo with a toddler asleep on her lap sweating to death. I'm sure people were like, "What the heck is she doing here?" It was pretty funny to me!!
Here is KK's before picture...
For one last hurrah before school started, I took the kids to the "rock slide" in Alpine. It was basically awesome. It pretty much made the summer for my kids. Who knew?? It really was fun to watch them....what?? Like I'M GOING TO GO DOWN? Seriously....
School started pretty early for my kiddos. August 17th.
Here's the first day of school. Don't mind how annoyed they look at their classroom doors. They both gave me the "cold cheek". rude. No kiss? Can't even believe it....
Here is a few videos if you don't mind.
This is the kids going down the rock slide
This is Kennedy is her "achievement days talent show" She choreographed this all by herself.
This is Kennedy in her performing group "Tyros" this year at school. Don't mind that she is the only one that knows the moves and words...it's fine. That's why I love her ;)
