Who rocked the Second Grade?

This Guy!!!

During their classroom awards ceremony, Lou's teacher gave each child a very specific award. They were very thoughtful and personality specific.

Louis received the "110%" award. I'm sure that most of you don't know Lou's teacher, Miss Condit. She is hilarious. She is silly, goofy, sarcastic and just plain fun. Isn't it interesting that when she called Louis name, the last name (thank you W!!) she couldn't even talk. She was choked up and tearing up. Something I don't think has ever happened, that I've seen ;) Of course I was a gonner!!! She gave Louis a lovely tribute on what a great kid he is. The hard lessons he's learned (through no fault of his own, she said that three times....see I told you!!!!), the good friend, hard worker, good attitude, always being kind and giving, for being the lovable kid he is. It's true. He's a pretty special dude.

Sadly, sometimes it takes someone pointing out these things for you to stand up and recognize it! Thanks Lou for always giving 110%.

Cole's Big Day

For Cole's 3rd birthday we had the grandparents over for cake and ice cream and of course ....presents :)

Cole posing with his new ball and bat. Just like the big kids, now!

My weak attempt at a big bird cake. Don't look too close, it's more Gonzo than Big Bird :)

Blowing out the candles!!

Grandpa and Grandma Olsen got Cole a Thomas the Tank Engine train set (can you say obsessed??) It only took my dad about 45 minutes to get the batter in Thomas. Cole sat right in that spot the whole time!! The battery was dead at approximately 9:45 the next morning!!!
Cole has a new obsession...dressing up like anything cool. Spiderman, superman, pirate whatever you have!! Here is a lovely super/spider combo!

OH yes and cowboys too!

Say a little prayer for Cole!! Tomorrow is the CT scan.....answers to follow (hopefully)!!!

Only a Month Late!!

Happy 3rd birthday to my little monkey man. I love this little dude so much!! Cole is quite the energetic, happy, funny, silly, awesome man!! Our family just wouldn't be complete without him.

He has given us quite a scare recently and has made me only love and appreciate our "mommy colie time" more!! He's so special to me and will always be my baby. Probably spoiled rotten. But, that's not my rule. It's just the way it is!! I can't do anything about it :)

Here are a few cute Colie pics...

I love you Cole. The end.

Just thought I'd share these cute pics! I just had his three year old pictures taken. Pretty darn cute if I do say so myself!! :)

EEk!!

Cole went in for his 3 year old check up yesterday....wow!! Good times for us! First of all he is underweight. Really? That is so strange to me. My older two were beyond off the charts for height and weight. We don't make small children.... :) So, I knew he was skinny but didn't think he was underweight. So. The doctor put him on a high calorie/crap food diet. Everything I try and keep out of his mouth...the doctor said to put in it! We're talking ice cream, french fries, milk shakes. He even said to not give him plain whole milk to add carnation instant breakfast because it has more calories than, say, pediasure. So he gets "chocolate milk" every stinking hour. I don't think I have EVER bought chocolate milk. I think it is just extra fat and calories and it makes them crave sugar....but that's just me. THIS GOES AGAINST EVERYTHING I BELIEVE IN!!!!!!! I'm freaking out a little bit :) It's hard too telling the other kids that it's only for him. I don't want to ruin everyone with all of this junk....I know I'm a freak.

The next thing I know he is telling me that is suspects that Cole might have a bone tumor in his chest....growing in/on his rib. We took him in yesterday for chest x-rays and they couldn't find anything. So, tomorrow morning we are taking him in for an ultrasound to check out the soft tissues surrounding it....if that shows nothing, then it's off for an MRI. Yippee skippee! Can't wait. Just sign my check over to UVRMC....thank you very much!!

It just breaks my heart to think that something might be wrong with my baby. I can't even put into words how much this hurts me. We don't even know if anything is even wrong yet, but the thought of anything happening to my little "fatty" is killing me!! I know I'm such a whimp with nothing hard in my life, I just don't know if I could handle anything going wrong with him. He's such a little dude..... It has just brought me back to my family. Realizing how important they are and how much I love them and how much each of them individually means to me. Why oh why does it take something like this to remember how blessed we are?? I get it...okay? I get it!! I'm the luckiest girl in the world. Enough. :)

I'm not looking for sympathy, just wanted you all to know what is going on and for journaling purposes!!!

I'm BAAAAACK!! Starting Tuesday....I will be connected to this thing called the internet, once again!! Apparently Ross can only take so much. Everywhere he went someone would ask him why he cancelled the internet and that he must get it back immediately.........I knew he would crack :) I do have to say. I will miss the "main street walker guy" and the very...shall we say....unfriendly librarian who always gave me weird looks when I went in to use the computer. Oh well....look out. I'm back and I'm bad.

Lucky Me

I am feeling really lucky today!! No. I didn't win the lottery. I didn't win a big contest, in fact I never win anything....I am just lucky!!

I feel very privileged and blessed to be a mother. I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father for entrusting these special little people to me. It also makes me feel overwhelmed most of the time ;) But right now I feel lucky. Maybe it is because it is a quiet, peaceful Saturday afternoon. Both of the big kids are at birthday parties and the baby is watching a movie, it's quiet and sunny. But it feels good.

I know I'm not the best mom in the world. In fact, I might possibly be one of the worst. But I am trying, I feel like I learn so much every day. My kids help with that. I am trying to be patient, I am trying to not be sarcastic (that one is OH SO HARD)....and I am just trying to enjoy the moments and love them for who they are. I want them to know that no matter what happens I love them and I am lucky to be their mom. I am PRIVILEGED to be their mom. I know they don't need me as much as I need to learn from them...but we make a pretty good team.

I feel like I spend most of my time stressed to the max, yelling, nagging and just plain being ornery. I hate that. I am trying so hard to "enjoy the journey". That's a difficult task for me. But when I get around to it and try it out...it's actually fun!! I love enjoying those little moments with the kiddos. Playing catch, kicking their trash at wii boxing, putting a puzzle together or just talking.

So...this mother's day I am just thankful to be a mother.

I also have a pretty great mother.

My mom is a great mom. She's talented, beautiful, smart, spiritual, a great cook/seamstress and a great friend.

Happy mothers day to all and remember to love it!!

Kennedy's Busy Month

Can I just say I'm so glad May 1st is over?? With that said...it was so much fun! It just took so much prep work to get there. Kennedy had a dance competition in Provo all day and then last night she was preforming in a show in Payson. Both of which required many practices and many many carpools. But, what can I say...the girl was born to perform!! Who am I to deny her an audience???

Getting ready to go on stage for "Orange Colored Sky"

Work it girl!!!

Preforming "She is Love"

She really is such a great performer!! Love that girl! It just makes me burst with pride to watch her on stage!!

Quick wardrobe change, hair change, stuff some food in the face and drive fast....next up Payson!!
They were doing a fundraiser for Upstage Theater for Youth, the company that Kennedy performed Aladdin with two years ago. It's a community youth theater and they are trying to get a new sound system. Some of the "best" performers were asked to come and participate in a "Pre show" to the actual show. In about a month they learned these songs and choreography. It was amazing. Kennedy had a solo for the first part of "Hard Knock Life" from Annie. She knocked it out of the ballpark!! She has an incredible voice!!

Here she is in Hard knock life....

same....

Here she is in her ending costume...Friend Like Me from Aladdin. She had so much fun and the show afterward was AmAzInG!! They had special guest come and perform and they were fabulous. Chad Hymas (a motivational speaker) was so inspiring and funny and just made you want to leave and become a better person. I hope that feeling stays with me, he was beyond great. The next performer was Jason Hewlett. hilarity. That is all.....I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!!! He was truly talented and entertaining!!! We had a great day....glad it's over :)

Louie Louie

Louis has had a fun couple of weeks! We got to go with him on a field trip to Thanksgiving Point. It was really fun and Cole had a blast too. I haven't been there since before we moved to Price. Yep. That was about 9 years ago. A lot has changed :) It was a perfect day and we enjoyed just walking around and doing whatever we wanted!!

This is Louis and his teacher Miss Condit. He loved her!!! He took this lovely self portrait .... She is a fun teacher and Louis will miss her next year!

Just having lunch and soaking up the sun!! (oh how I miss the sun!!)

Cole could have stayed at the puzzle table for hours. The boy loves him some puzzles!

Thanks Grandma Olsen for the quarters to buy food to feed the animals!!

I'm not sure if you can tell right here or not, but the cows tongue is actually grabbing hold of Cole's hand and taking it into it's mouth. He got bit so hard!! Poor guy. Yep. I'm just watching it happen, taking pictures. Good mom!! :)

Louis has also been playing Futsol this spring. It took a while to get used to the different rules and well...let's be honest...we kind of had our own rules. But he loved it!! By the time it was over he was really loving it and actually getting pretty good!! Too bad we don't have somewhere closer that he could play more!

So intense!

Nice.

I had to put this picture in to show you how much taller he is than kids his age. He's like a whole head taller and probably 15 pounds heavier than the next biggest kid. No wonder he has such a hard time in wrestling. He's always grouped with much MUCH older and more experienced kids because of his size....sorry bud!! You get that from me :)
