First and Last

KK's first day of the 5th grade. That's right, I said 5th grade. Holy cow! When did that happen??

Last day. Sad day.

KK has a fabulous year! It started out a little rocky. She didn't start out with the best teacher, so we decided to switch about 2 weeks into school. Well, about 2 weeks after that, that teacher quit. Wow. Not looking good. Fortunately for us, she ended up with the most amazing teachers I have ever seen. It was an interesting path, but something I knew needed to be done, even though I wasn't really sure why. Funny how that works, huh? Mrs. Trimble is amazing. She just made KK come alive. She and Kennedy had so much in common, she was strict without being mean. She was organized and fun and has a passion for learning. Making learning hands on and exciting. She would attend the kids recitals and ball games. She made Kennedy feel like she was her favorite student in the world. Can you really ask for anything more? Seriously. Amazing. Kennedy cried her little itty bitty eyeballs out on the last day of school. Did you ever have a teacher like that? I did. I remember the last day of 3rd grade. I cried like a baby. I didn't want to leave Miss Shumway's class. Miss Trimble was kind enough to give Kennedy her email address. She may regret that...on to 6th grade. Gulp. Watch out world. Here comes the performing whirlwind that is Kennedy!!

First and Last

Last year I saw a few people do this on their blogs. I always post a first of the year photo and never and end of the year photo. So...now I am. Plus a little recap of the year!!

This was Lou on his first day of 3rd grade.

and quite possibly the worst picture ever on his last day of school. I don't know what happened!!

Both of the kids started at a new school this year. It was a fun year and I think they really enjoyed it! Lou's teacher was Mrs. Anderson. She was very kind and loved Louis a lot. He is quite the "social bug". He's friends with everyone and especially the kids that need a friend. He is my sensitive little man. He's always the first to help out and notice if someone is feeling sad or left out. He's very tender hearted. He did really well this year in school. One thing I've learned about him is, he's amazingly smart. But!! He is quite the competitive little dude. He races through his work, writing, reading...etc. to be the first one done. Little stinker. He writes like a kindergartner because he is in such a hurry to be done!! Cracks me up. He has the most beautiful cursive penmanship, when he takes his time!!! He's such a fun little guy. I can't wait to see what the future holds for him. Watch out ladies, Louis is moving to the 4th grade!!!

End of the Year Performances

It has become apparent to me after watching these awful videos that it is time to invest in a new camers. Holy snap. You can't even see the actual people. Yikes!!! In the second one, Kennedy is the only one in a black skirt. She is usually front and center...if you can't tell who she is by the way she shakes her hips, you don't know her very well ;)

Playing Catch-up

So. Easter has happened and also the baby turned four. Maybe I should stop calling him the baby. But that probably isn't going to happen.

The pictures loaded backwards...obviously it's been a while, I forgot how to blog!! I am not going to change them because I really don't want to! So. Here is the last 2 months, backwards!

Cole turned four. Yikes. Not sure I'm ready to not have any innocent little people who don't talk back, yet. He's so yummy. I love him. He's my little pal. Seriously, he snuggles with me, hugs me and lets me rock him to sleep. He's a keeper! He only ruins most of the stuff we own. Could be worse!

(pretty sure that is my sisters ex-boyfriends sweatshirt from at least 20 years ago. Yep I still wear it very regularly~)

His Owl cake!! We found this cake in the "Family Fun" magazine and I ripped it out because I thought it was darling and figured I would make it at some point. Cole took that as the sign that this was to be his birthday cake. I am not joking when I tell you that for 2 solid months, every night at tuck in time, he would be all snuggled up in his humongous bed and I would turn off the lights and he would say..."Mommy, I'm gonna have a owl cake and grandma's going to get me salty for my birthday" with a huge smile. EVERY NIGHT!!! He was so cute when I made it he sat right there on the counter holding the picture for me. Love. p.s. Salty is a train that goes with his Thomas the Tank Engine train set.

Not too shabby, eh?

My baking assistant. Pretend you don't see the canned frosting right there. Look away.

Oh yeah, and that cute little dude also graduated from his first year of preschool. Oh my. Talk about a hot mess. That was me. He can't be this old, yet. Plus, what are we going to do with only one more year of Miss Andy teaching any of my children. It will be like losing a family member!

He's special.

Yep. He's a keeper.

Before this was Easter!! So much fun to have 2 Easters. Saturday "fun" Easter and Sunday "real" Easter.

Clothing optional Easter celebration!

Hippie.

That's it. Whew. I feel better.

Cole's School Adivce

As Louis was leaving for school this morning, (a morning where he and Cole just happened to be getting along. That alone is a miracle..) Cole grabs his face and says this," You shouldn't fight with the people at school and be nice to everyone and when you come home you can come into my room and we can play.

My heart melted.
