WAHOO!

It is official. I just wanted to share my joy with all of you today. We are officially a "bottle-free" family. If you could see me now, I am doing the happy dance! Some things about Cole growing up make me want to cry, but this-not one of them. That is all just know that I am excited. Now, about potty-training a 12 month old....

Potpourri

Louis lives to get his head shaved! I usually only do it in the summer, after school is out, but he needed a haircut BADLY, and I didn't want to cut it, just to shave it in a week. So, off it went. He really wanted to keep it like this, but I'm such a mean mom I made him shave it all the way. Besides, he already walks around without shoes half the time, I didn't want DCFS to pick him up :)!
Cole has this obsession for sunglasses latley. He loves to carry them around, everywhere! Then, he'll just sit down in the middle of whatever he's doing and put them on his face and start giggling! It's adorable!
Kennedy is really sad to leave 2nd grade. She loves her teacher. She really bonds with her teachers and she is a great kid, so I think they appreciate her, as well. Her teacher is only about 2 inches taller than her, literally. It is funny to see her walk down the hall with her, they look like sisters. Kennedy is trying to talk her teacher into "getting together" after school's out. Like go to the mall or to dinner. It's adorable. Apparently she doesn't realize that teachers count down to summer, so they don't have to see students, oh well!
Anyway, today has been a wonderful day. No work for anyone! That, in and of itself is a stinkin' miracle. We went to the Firemen's Fundraiser breakfast this morning, the kid's loved it. Then we came home and Ross planted my new plant pot for me. We went on a walk, took a nap. All the makings of a perfect day!
Louis has a little play this week at school and somehow, I got roped into being the "costume committee". Equals sewing. Anyone who knows anything about me is probbably laughing out loud right now. We'll just say hot glue gun and a 200 year old sewing maching, given to me by Ross' GREAT aunt. It's not pretty. I'll post pictures of the play later, hopefullly they look okay from a distance! Anyeay, it'll be cute. Anything with kindergardner's is cute~!
We have some fun things coming up. I get to go with Louis' class to the zoo on Monday the 2nd. They have their school carnival this Friday night and Field Day next Thursday. And then, all of our excitement for the whole summer happens in 2 weeks. The day the kids get out of school, we head down to southern Utah with my family for the weekend at a cabin, and to go to Zion. Then the next Friday, we get to go to Bear Lake for a week with Ross' family and hang out, I haven't been to either place, so it'll be a great time! The kids are truly looking forward to it. They do not get to see their cousins very much and some not at all, so it'll be a great time!
Anyway, kind of a mish mash of stuff, but that's what's been going on in our house latley! TTFN

She's here!

The long awaited arrival of Devin and Andrea's baby has finally come! She is beautiful. She has this cute little round face and Andrea's nose and lots of sandy blonde curly hair. She is just perfect. We went to see them last night at the hospital, she had quite a long day in labor so we just stayed for a minute. She looked great and felt pretty good, considering....As of yet, she is still "Baby" Williams. I was kind of pulling for Shaniqua, but she definitley doesn't look like one. So, I guess we'll wait and see. We are all very excited for them. Being first time parents is such a fun and overwhelming experience. It doesn't seem like that long ago that KK was born and now I have an attitide filled 8 year old. My how time flies. Anyway, congrats go out to "D-bo" and Andrea. She's beautiful. You did a good job. Now, about you taking my niece and moving to Texas........

1:30 church....who invented it?

Well, as of June 1st I am officially religion shopping. I am fairly sure that going from 1:30 to4:30 with 3 children makes the church a little less true. Do they not understand.....children can barely deal with 3 hours of being still and reverent. The later they move it, the less it is going to happen.

We showed up to church yesterday at 1:00, which sucks anyway. Only to have been informed that starting in June we are adding another ward to our building, so they are pushing us to 1:30. I don't care who you are. That's mean. The only thing that is bright in this cloud of late church is that we actually get to join the rest of the normal people and have sacrament meeting first. Imagine with me if you will, three children, warm summer day, late church, sacrament last....It's not a pretty picture. Anyway, just a little rant and rave. Apparently you can't just change religions because of the time. Whatever...

Yeow!

After much worrying, fretting and strife. Louis FINALLY decided to let me "pull" his tooth out this morning. (It basically fell out:) We tried once and he cried like a sissy, but the floss slipped off his tooth. It took me 20 minutes to talk him into letting me try again. We did. Apparently I am stronger that I care to recognize! I wasn't about to have the floss slip off and have another ordeal, so I pulled with a lot of let's say zeal. The tooth went flying across the dining room and well, let's just say we have to write a note to the tooth fairy explaining why there's no tooth. Who knew!? Anyway, he's really excited to be part of the "I've lost a tooth" Club. Afterwards, he told me it didn't really hurt, he just thought it would. Pansy. Just kidding. Anyway, he looks cute and talks with a lisp. It's adorable!!

Decisions, decisions

We love the school that our kids go to. They attend Liberty Academy in Salem, Utah. We love it. Did I mention that we like it there? It is a small charter school, we know everyone. Everyone knows us. They all watch out for each other. They know my children's first names. They know all about them and they love them. Well, we may not be able to send them there next year. It is about a 2o minute drive from our house. We carpool and that helps tremendously, but it still takes almost $60 to fill the van with gas. Cough! It annoys me beyond belief that some stupid mother *&$#@ in Iraq can decide if I can afford to take my children to the school that I choose to take them to. (Pardon my french) It just seems incredibly unfair to me that just because this world is so screwed up and political that nobody can afford to drive anywhere. Sorry I went off. Just something that has been bothering me for a while. Maybe I'll just move up into the mountains and start home schooling them, and maybe stop brushing my teeth, too. That'll show 'em.

Good Times

Yesterday was Cole's birthday! I can't believe it's already come and gone. He was absolutley adorable all day long! Like he knew it was his big day. Smiley and giggly like normal, but funny different. It was darling. He had a ball opening his presents and playing with all the fun things he got. But, let's be honest...it's all about the cake!
He was timid and careful at first and then, he unleashed. There was cake everywhere! Hair, walls, diaper....
I can't believe he actually wore this hat. He hates hats. Will not wear them, but this one he wore, who knew!
I think I have been watching too much "Ace of Cakes" . Although it may not look like it, this cake took hours to prepare. 6 cake mixes, 3 packages of fondant, 3 cartons of pre-made frosting, 8 candy canes, 4 plastic animals and a partridge in a pear tree. (no wonder they charge so much for their amazing cakes!) Oh well, a good time was had by Cole and he is now offically in "Years" and out of "months". TTFN
