Louis officially started wrestling practice tonight. I have to say, it's one of the funniest things I think I have ever seen. All of these little boys, trying to be tougher than the next, rolling around on the floor, good times!
He is really tall for his age and is almost 7, so he is like the oldest and biggest in his group. So, they pair him up with the big kids. Well, he doesn't want any of that. After his first match-up, he goes over to the skinniest shortest boy and asks him if he wants to be his partner. You gotta' give him credit, he's not stupid!! Some of these boys have been wrestling for a few years, now, so they've definitley got some skill, we've got a little catching up to do! But, what he lacks in skill and experience, he definitley makes up for in heart and enthusiasm. Ross couldn't make it to this first practice, so here I am yelling at him to be careful and don't hurt the other little boy, and all the dad's are laughing at me. I guess this is more of a father-son thing, not so much for the mama's! He did have a good cheering section, though...
Just a little FYI, my husband was a State Champion Wrestler in High School (Go OHS!!) so he is slightly excited about this. And when I say slightly, I mean incredibly. Although he doesn't come right out and say it, I think he is really excited that Louis is finally able to do the "manly" stuff with him, and this is something that Ross is really good at and is really excited to show him the ropes!! So, we'll keep you posted, I'm sure you will be sitting on the edge of your computer chairs!!! But, we're excited for Louis to do something that he's been dying to try and hope he succeeds and kicks some wrestling butt!!
p.s. still getting used to seeing little boys run around in leotards...
