My Observations

So, summer can start, I've been to the swimming pool! Yippee. I've been waiting for the rain to stop long enough on a day off to go. Finally!!!!! Something about a little bit of a tan and the sound of splashing water and screaming kids signals summer in my mind!

So, here are a few observations I made at the pool today. Don't hate. Just a few things I noticed.

Who said you could have a blond ponytail and brown hair. (BTW my WORST pet peeve!!) Either cut your hair or pick a color!

Clothing hides a lot!

The otherwise assumed "perfect body" people aren't so perfect! (assumed by me, not them :) )

I shouldn't obsess over what I look like, no one's lookin' anyway.

You always feel a little bit better about yourself after you leave.

(Is it that obvious that I have body issues??)

Why do some people get decked out to go swimming? I'm talking Hair DONE, make up, jewelery, matching bag, suit, shoes etc. Come on people!!

BAND AIDS!! If you have an open wound that required a band aid, kindly do not go to the swimming pool and definitely DO NOT GO IN THE POOL WITH ONE ON!! BECAUSE IT WILL EVENTUALLY END UP ON MY ( GAG, HURL) FOOT OR NEXT TO ME IN THE WATER! I am barfing in my mouth right now!!

Everyone in Payson and Santaquin is at the Payson pool on any given hot day. I mean EVERYONE!!

Even if you get there 1/2 hour early, you still have to wait in a 45 minute line!

Splashing kids. I know I'm at the pool, but I'm one of those "don't get me wet" mom's. I know we're annoying. But, if you had this much bleach on your hair, you wouldn't want to get chlorine in it, either!! ha ha

Regular diapers are REALLY absorbent. oops.

My kids love the water and are completely adorable!

I forgot my camera. I hate when that happens!!

OH yeah, and I got a new 'do! Thanks Angie for the color. Bangs and cut, compliments of moi!!

Happy swimming.

New Little Olsen

Yippee! My cute brother and his cuter wife had their first baby yesterday!!! Little Skyler June Olsen was born at 12:15 yesterday. After a long and tiring night, she finally made it here! Go Jess!!! We are so excited to meet her, I'm certain she's beautiful. Congratulations Matt and Jess!! Welcome to the world of CrAzY LoVe!!

I'm a Fan

I'm a fan of summer. Just thought I would let you know. I am also a fan of spring, winter and fall. Just REALLY READY FOR SUMMER this year!! I am looking forward to laying out in the back yard without dogs slobbering on me (THANKS BILL AND ANDY!! WAHOO!!), playing at the park, relaxing and enjoying my kids.

The last one is something I am forcing myself to do.

Does that sound horrible?

I know. I'm the worst. But, honestly, if I hear "MOOOOOOM. Kennedy (insert any child's name here) touched me, breathed on me, looked at me, whatever'd me!!!!!!!" I'm gonna' hurl and I'M GOING TO GO TO SCHOOL MYSELF TO GET A BREAK!! Poor me, I know, really. But, honestly people. Could we please get some children in our neighborhood to play with my children? Is that hard to ask for. I mean, I live in Utah County (barley, but still). For pete's sake. GIVE ME SOME KIDS!!!!

Wow. Can you tell it's been a rough one?? So, I'm trying to keep them busy and occupied and enjoy these moments. I'm certain one day I will miss this. So I hear!! Just kidding.

So, bring on the heat!! The sun!!! The relaxation!!!!

Why?

Why do I care about Jon and Kate?

Why do I feel drawn to watch their show?

Why is he so immature?

Why did he pierce both ears with diamond studs?

Why does Kate still have that haircut?

Why did I cry when I watched last night's episode when I don't care?

Seriously people. I can't stop watching. I swore I wouldn't watch anymore when they moved to their new house and turned into snobs. I swore I didn't care what happened to that crabby, ornery, mean Kate. I swore I felt bad for Jon.

What happened. I found myself feeling for her. Wanting to hug her and tell her it would be okay. I wanted to slap him upside of his hair plugged head and rip out his earrings. (Seriously, boys with pierced ears is so last season!) Why do I care???

The kids. That's why I care. Those cute little kids didn't ask for any of this. They got thrown into this mess before they could walk or talk or give an opinion (not that it would have mattered~). I just hurt in my heart for that little (big) family. No one should have to go through that. No one should have to feel abandoned, left alone and betrayed. Now, don't judge here! I've never been through this in any way shape or form, I'm just offering my observation.

Jon, pull up your big boy pants and suck it up! Learn to get along, go to counseling, learn how to communicate. Isn't that what it's all about? Life isn't easy, not everything goes your way. But, you chose to have those children, you chose to marry Kate. You knew what you were getting into (as much as any of us know). Yikes! I act like I know what I'm talking about. I don't and I don't claim to. I just remember hearing a talk somewhere, sometime (specific, I know!!) about marriage difficulties. I remember the person giving the talk saying that If you fell into and out of love with the same person, you know how to fall in love again! Basically, suck it up and do what is best for your family. Lose yourself in serving your spouse and think of how they feel and do what you can to make them happy! That will in turn make you happy. Words to live by!

I do not have the perfect family or marriage, nor do I claim to. Just offering my words of advice to people that don't care and venting. Thanks for listening.

Happy Dad's Day, Dad

So, don't judge. This is THE ONLY PICTURE I have with only me and my dad. Pretty sure it's from a daddy daughter date in the early 90's. Hence the hair don't and the light, too short jeans with the white, too tall socks and the "$5.99's" from Payless. I was quite the fashion icon. But, anywho.

This is to my dad.

Thanks for being my dad. For the good times, the family trips, the ninetykidspackedintothebackoftherustcolored"stach", disneyland, christmas, laughing till I peed my pants, listening while I vent and just talk. Helping me make good decisions and standing back and holding your tongue when I didn't. Thanks for helping me grow and become the semi-normal person that I am today!! Thanks for all of your hard work and for walking to grandma's when I forgot to pick you up at the bus stop because I was too self-involved. Sorry, by the way! Anywho-thanks for being you and helping me be me! You're the best. Love you Dad!!!!

I said DON'T JUDGE! We've come a long way baby!!

p.s. I think that's an Italia sweatshirt my dad has on. I'm just saying, that's how hip he was (is)!!

Kennedy: Mom, yesterday at the pool, Louis said "I haven't been to the pool since 1966!" Funny, huh?

Me: Louis, mommy and daddy weren't even born in 1966.

Louis: Well, Elvis was.

Kennedy: Did you know that Elvis died on the toilet from a drug overdose?

Uh, not really sure what to say or how to respond...

I'm glad that my children know the important things in life. I mean, really.

Our Bear Lake Adventure

So, if you want to plan a family reunion with perfect weather, fabulous water conditions and a glowing golden tan from frolicking on the beach all weekend. DON'T HAVE ME PLAN YOUR VACATION!!!! My little sister and I were in charge of our family reunion (ma and pa and siblings) this year! We chose Bear Lake mostly because we had gone there last year this same time and had fabulous weather. Sunburns, swimming and jet skiing.

Not so much this time!!

We decided to rent a "cabin" in Bear Lake. It was a beautiful cabin (minus the sconces and randomly placed small pictures) with plenty of room for the kiddos to run and frolic! Complete with a trampoline, air hockey and Foosball! It was really fun. Although, the rain spoiled a few fun plans we had it was still a blast. We took the four wheelers to share with everyone. I think the kids that went had a blast and Ross had more fun than anyone!! There was mud and cold fingers from here to breakfast but they had fun "herding the cows"!!

The rest of us spent the majority of our time either watching someone play the wii or playing the wii. There were shuffleboard tournaments (don't judge. It rocks!), boxing tournaments (Louis killed us all!!) and even a few darts thrown.

Here's Louis showing off his mad boxing skillz!!

Anna and I boxing (or laughing)! Not sure who won, but it was a sight to behold!!

Grandma kicking Kennedy's trash. Notice the fist pump of victory by mom and the annoyed, "I can't believe I just lost to grandma at wii boxing" face on Kennedy! Aaah, what a good sport!!

REMATCH!!! I have no idea where she got her competitiveness from ......

Merilee and KK boxing. I love this picture of Kennedy's hair!!

The kiddos making our puff paint visors. If only it hadn't rained. We had big plans for these babies!!

The final product.

Wow. I'm speechless. She's so hot!

Mike-dizzle showing us how to "really" wear the puff paint visors. Word!

Seriously. I came from these genes. yikes.

This video is so awesome! Cole has been a little sick and stuffy. After a long night, not getting to bed on time and no nap the day before, he finally ZONKED OUT!! This is so mean, but I think it's adorable....

We're Off....

I'm Just Throwin' This Out There

I just want everyone to know what a lucky lady I am! I have the best life! It's not perfect, by any means, but it's great for me! I have a husband who loves me more than anything in this world. Three of the most awesome, sweet, cute, sassy loveable children on the planet! I get to be with all of them FOREVER!! The B.E.S.T. job ever! I was just thinking this morning. I complain a lot, I'm kind of a brat. I'm slightly pampered and spoiled and even a bit control-freakish (gasp! I know). But, what do I really have to complain about. Reality Check!! Life ain't so bad. Not saying that we don't have our trials and junk, but I'm learning that I have a great life and not much to complain about. I have these guys forever!!

Does it get any better than that?

Ponder This One.

Louis asked me this today and I'm not sure what the answer is.

Mom, isn't it a law that your dessert has to weigh less than you?

I'm not sure about that one.

I think, maybe in most states, but not Utah. We have some pretty weird laws here, being that we're the "home" of green jello and all....

Do You Remember The Time?

Yesterday I had a bizarre experience. I left my cell phone home! Yikes. I know. Pathetic. But, the reason it is such a hard thing is that I use that phone to run my business. I was at work for eight hours and didn't have a phone. The salon I work at doesn't have a main line, we all make our own appointments and use our own phones. I felt so isolated. But, you know what? I kind of liked it. I actually more than liked it, it was really nice! I didn't have to keep interrupting my clients with the rings and have to return a million calls (I did that last night :)) It reminded me of how it used to be in the "olden days", when you got in your car you were alone and no one could get a hold of you. At the store you were alone, you actually got to think and be alone! I'll admit there are definite benefits to the "cell phone" but, I just enjoyed my day at work without any interruptions. Just thought I would share that with you. Now I'm off to return some texts...;)
