Does This Bother Anyone Else??

Are you freaking kidding me? Last time I checked it was SPRING and the flippin' end of March.

My poppy's and my tulips are covered in snow. So help me, if they are ruined. Someone's gonna get hurt...

Well, we thought it was warm!

Friday was a beautiful day. About 75 degrees. So, we decided to go up to the canyon and roast hot dogs and make smores. We invited our friends the Walcker's to go with us. Little did we know that our "usual" spot would be surrounded by 2 feet of snow! Oh well, we made the best of it and just all sat really close to the fire!!! WE had a blast!

Just chillin' by the fire!

Cole and Kennedy livin' it up

Amanda and Alex. Sorry about the pic Amanda, it's the only one we had of you guys!! A good time was had by all!!

Tonight's The Night...

For those of you who care, tonight is the big R.S. birthday dinner and birthday cake decorating contest. That's right I said contest. Now, those of you who know me, know that I am not at all competitive. HA! That's like saying I'm not a girl. Well, technically I'm a woman, but you know what I mean. I really try hard not to be competitive, but hey, I like to win and be #1. There's nothing wrong with that, right? Right? I think that constantly beating my children at Uno and Sorry is not about me winning as much as it is about them learning how to lose gracefully. HA! Who am I kidding. I love to win, even if it's at a kids game. Hence the excitement for the contest tonight. There are not a lot of things in life that I like to do and can sort of do well, but this might, just might be one of them. I have been psyching the ladies up for weeks in R.S. It has actually been kind of fun! They all tease me about mapping out my blue prints and making this super secret cake. It's going to be really fun, I hope!!! So, let's just say I better deliver, right??? I'll let you know the outcome. I'm sure you're dying to know!! If I don't do well, I'll probably just delete this post and pretend it never happened, but if I did well, trust me. You'll know! I'll post pictures afterward. Can't wait! Now, if I can get that stupid cake to stop sticking to the dang pan!!!!!!!

SUCCESS! YES!

It only took me 7 years of trying, bribing, crying, yelling, screaming, pleading and finally bribing again! And all it took was the promise of a "Ben 10" wii video game. If I had only known.

Louis is no longer among the "I suck my thumb, I'm 7 and I'm proud" crowd! WAHOO!! I haven't been this proud, since, well.....I don't know. But, dang I'm proud. Disneyland, nope. Cruise, nope. Video game, sure thing. Weird kid!!

Vampire? Maybe...

Do you ever have days or times that you just want to bite your kids? Not out of anger or frustration, but out of love? Like, for example, Cole has the cutest thighs in the world. Meaty and soft and yummy, you know?
Do I sound like a freak?
Yesterday I was just changing his diaper and I just had to take a bit of his thigh. He started laughing, luckily... Don't call DCFS or anything, I just love this stage of life. Now, if I bit Kennedy's thigh, that's another story....

Am I the only one? I have always been a biter. I love to bite baby cheeks and tummys. I know, it's weird. Oh well. He won't remember. Unless you tell him when he's older.....

Happy St. Patty's Day from the O'Williams

The kids got to wear anything they wanted today, if it was green!! Yeah for them. So, we went all out. They had leprechan ears and everything!!

Cole just wants to be part of the group. Wearing pajamas (at least they're green!) and sister's shoes and holding a halloween trick or treat bag. What a stylish guy!!

I even made them eat "green eggs and ham" for breakfast. How rude!! Have a happy day!!

Happy Birthday Honey

Just wanted to send out a Happy Birthday post to my one and only. I love you!!! Love, your older woman

Yummy!!

Yesterday, while I was at the gym, walking on the treadmill (yippee) I was watching the food network. Why do I do that to myself, I always ask??? Here I am trying like crazy to lose weight, and torturing myself at the same time. Oh well, I do it anyway. It's either that or watch "For the Love of Ray-J". Seriously people. Reality t.v. has gotten out of control. But, on to food. So, Ms. Paul Deen, whom I love (mostly because of the way she says olive ool) was cooking with eggs and making all kinds of yummy breakfast foods. I was hooked. We love eggs and breakfast foods. She had all of these fabulous things, omelets, quiches, cinnamon buns. So, today is Ross' birthday, and I decided to make a yummy breakfast to celebrate. I decided to make the hash brown quiche, and the ultimate coffee cake. They turned out so fabulous. I can't even tell you, it was the yummiest breakfast I've had in a long time. So, this one is going in the recipe box and will become regulars. Give it a shot! She also had an awesome recipe for omelets for a crowd. I can't wait to try it!!! Yum, I love food!!

Just a little fyi. I doubled the recipe for the crust on the quiche and use the same amount of butter, so it isn't too fattening. I put it in a 9 by 13 pan and doubled the egg part. You have to cook it a little longer, but it's worth it!! Let me know what you think.

Does Anyone REALLY Floss Every Day?

So, if you remember I had a slight rant and rave the last time I had a dental check-up. If you don't remember, good. It wasn't pretty. I just have to restate the fact that I do not enjoy being slightly lectured by the young dental hygenist in the "trendy" scrubs. You know, the kind that actually have shape, wide legs, slits at the bottom, the tops actually fit and they are in cute colors, not cartoon characters (which by the way serve a purpose at a pediatrician's office!!). She is entirely too young and hip to be lecturing ME about flossing my teeth. You know what, it's worked fine for me so far. So what if I have a filling in EVERY one of my teeth. That just means, NO MORE CAVITIES. Hello. Just how I planned it. Now, clean my teeth, and go on your square glasses, cute headband, trendy scrubs way. And, I don't want to hear any more about it.

I Can't Believe I Actually Forgot

I did it. In the 25 plus years of my life that I have been in charge of my time, I actually forgot. Daylight savings. What a pain in the rear. I pretend to be quite organized with my time. I know what's going on, when, and how. I remember everyone talking about it on Saturday. I even remember thinking, I need to set my clock back before I fall asl.......I didn't do it. AAAAAH! And with 9:00 church, nonetheless. So, we did it. We're the dorky people who casually mixed in the with the other people leaving sacrament meeting and made our way to class. I felt like I had this stupid arrow above me all day that said "Yep, I'm that dumb!!" Seriously...

And not to mention the havoc it reeks upon my child with wonderful sleeping habits. I hate daylight savings. Who needs it anyway.

Cuddles

I took the kids to see their friend perform in "Willy Wonka Jr." (Go Devyn, you make an awesome oompa loompa!!). They always have little benches for the kids to sit on up front so that they can see better. (Great idea!) So, of course Kennedy was up there front and center!! (Shocker!) I kept asking Louis if he wanted to go up there and sit, because he kept craning (sp?) his neck to see and trying to stand up. ( it kind of seemed like I need something here!!) He said "No mom, I can't. Then there would be no one here to cuddle with you if you get scared." Yes, he's that cute! ( Sorry for all of the parynthesis!!)

OOps!

Sorry, I forgot to mention where it is located, just in case you want to check it out!!! It inside the Good Earth in Orem on south state street. May I recommend the Border Wrap, I get it without lettuce. It comes with a side of chips and fresh salsa. Shut up. Yum to the o!!

Cafe Fresh

Just a little fyi. I love Cafe Fresh. It is the restaurant that took the place of my favorite restaurant, Fresh Food Junkies. I never thought I could love the restaurant that replaced this. It took me a while to warm up, but it's official. I'm in love.... Try it out. Let me know what you think.

Better Late Than Never!!

On February 27th, 1998 (woah) I married my best friend. I just wanted to dedicate this post to him, even though he never reads this! At least all of you will know why I love him!! I have been with this guy for about 16 years. So, to say we have been married for 11 years, sounds a little whimpy. There aren't many years or events I remember without him being there. It's so fun to have a lot of the same memories from High School, and beyond. He is such a good guy. He would do anything for anyone, and I mean that. He really is a great example of selflessness. Just a little example of this. There is this guy that has lived in our ward for a long time. He was Louis' tball coach last year and he and Ross kind of hit it off. He was a non-member, and they put Ross in to be his home teacher. He really clicks with guys like that, because he's been there. He knows what they're going through and how they see things. Well, long story short, this guy got baptized a few months back, and the only person he requested to be there was Ross. He was talking with him a few weeks ago, and realized that he didn't have any scriptures. So, without anyone knowing, even me, he asked his mom to go to the distribution center and get him a quad, with his name engraved on it. He quietly gave it to him and told him how he felt about it! What a cool guy. You would never know it, because he has a tough exterior, but he has a heart of gold and I hope I can be like him when I grow up!

Here are 11 things I love about Ross:

-He loves me, even when I am not looking or feeling so hot!
-He puts my needs above his own
-He's a great example of service
-He's the hardest worker I know
-He loves my kids like crazy!!!
-He can make me laugh like no other
-He tells you like it is
-He does the laundry
-He loves to cuddle
-He gets more handsome with age
-He's mine for eternity!

Happy Anniversary Babe!!!

Backwards, oops!

After I downloaded ALL of the pictures for this post, I realized I did them backwards. Guess what, not gonna change it, it will take all day and I'm not in the mood! So, here we go from the end!!!

The car ride home! Yippee. This is what sister's hair looked like after we took out all of her cornrow braids. Fuzz ball!

Our last night on the ship. Sniffle. We were so sad to leave this vacation behind. After dinner we went outside and just stood on deck, enjoying the water and the quiet. For some reason, Ross can not just stand there and smile.

The last night, the kids had a farewell party in the kids club. This is Louis just soaking it all in!!

Kennedy socializing with some new fun friends!

Farewell party

KK and her new friend Bailey

Just enjoying our last day.

Louis' age group had a "Funship Freddie" party on the last day. Funship Freddie is the cruise ship mascot. The kids just loved him!

So, I never thought on my 11th anniversary I would be in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico parasailing. But I was. He he. It is something I had always wanted to do, so Ross made it happen. They strap you in and hook you up to the parachute on a platform on the back of the boat and kind of just fly you like a kite! They just slowly let the rope out and you just slowly go up and up and up. It is the most amazing feeling, just light and peaceful and so quiet up there! When your done, they just reel you back in and you just land right on the platform, not a drop of water on me! Just the way I like it! It was so amazing. Thanks for the anniversary gift, honey!

Is there really a flattering angle when you butt is closer to the camera than the rest of you????

It pretty much rocked!

The kids watching me from the beach~ with grandpa peter. Ross went in the boat with me to take pics. I had to prove that I had actually done it!

The kids in Mazatlan with Senor Frog
In Mazatlan, we went on a city tour, saw a Mexican show and did some shopping. Pretty fun. The only thing I would change about the whole vacation was all of the dang people trying to sell you stuff. At first, you try and be polite, and then you just say No and then you just have to ignore them. Aaargh, it drove me crazy!!!!!

This is in Mazatlan, by the cliff diver that we saw~

nice shot Ross. Cliff diver, mid dive!!

Like I said, this is backwards. Before he dove!

Part of the mexican show we saw.

The kids at a cathedral that we stopped by and walked through.

The ceiling of the cathedral. It was really beautiful.

This is in Mazatlan, at the top of this windy drive, to look out and see a lighthouse. The view was beautiful, but mostly it was just another place to stop and have people attack you to buy their crap!

This is right below where we were standing.

This is in Puerto Vallarta. When we got off the ship, we just found a quiet beach and hung out for a few hours. It was so pretty. Louis had a ball just collecting sea shells. He was upset when he found out they wouldn't let us take shells on the boat. So, I told him I'd take a picture and he could remember them. It was pretty cute~

This was a funny guy, selling hats.

The fam on the beach in Puerto Vallarta

This was the funniest thing. This guy had a wheelbarrow full of bulk candy and food. He was just walking up and down the beach selling candy. I had to take a picture, I thought it was hilarious.

Louis made a turtle out of sand. So proud of it

Reverse order. The finished product~ I loved it!

Doesn't she look cute??

This lady braided so fast, she had smoke flying off her fingers. And I thought I could braid fast...

Just getting started.

splashing and loving it!

Well, friends. That's about it. I have carpel tunnell now, so, that's all she wrote!

But, we got to come home to this. So, I guess it was worth leaving for~!
